Whole-home and point-of-use water filtration
There are two ways to filter water in a house, and they solve different problems. Most homes we look at end up with one or the other. Some get both.
Whole-home water filtration
A whole-home system installs on the main water line where it enters the house, so every fixture gets treated water: showers, tubs, laundry, ice makers and every tap. This is what you want if the complaint is chlorine taste and smell, dry skin and hair after showering, or scale building up on fixtures and inside appliances.
Because it sits on the main line, sizing matters. A system too small for the house will drop your pressure. We size it to the service line and the number of fixtures before we quote anything.
Point-of-use water filtration
A point-of-use filter treats one location, normally the kitchen sink, and usually mounts under the cabinet with its own dedicated faucet. It is the cheaper answer when all you want is better drinking and cooking water, and it does not touch the rest of the house.
Point-of-use filters need their cartridges changed on a schedule. We will tell you what the interval is for what we install, and you can do it yourself or have us do it.

HALO 5
The HALO 5 is a whole-house filtration and water conditioning system that installs on the main line. It combines carbon and filtration media with HALO's salt-free conditioning, so it treats chlorine, taste and odor at the same time as it deals with hard water.
The part homeowners usually care about is what it does not need. There is no salt to buy and carry, no resin bed to regenerate, and no brine tank taking up floor space. HALO describes it as a self-maintaining system, and in practice the service need is periodic rather than monthly.
It suits a house on city water where the complaints are chlorine and scale, and where nobody wants the upkeep of a traditional softener.
HALO H2 Zero Ultimate
The H2 Zero Ultimate is HALO's top whole-house system. It runs with no electricity, no drain line and no backwash cycle, which makes it far easier to place than a system that needs a drain and an outlet nearby.
Water passes through a carbon and KDF media blend that targets chlorine and chloramines along with taste and odor, and the same salt-free conditioning treats hard water on the way through. HALO backs the system with a ten-year warranty.
It is the one to look at if you want whole-house treatment with the least ongoing involvement, or if the only practical install location has no drain or power.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need whole-home or point-of-use filtration?
If the problem is drinking and cooking water only, point-of-use is usually the right spend. If it is chlorine smell in the shower, dry skin, or scale on fixtures and inside appliances, that is a whole-home job. We will tell you which one your water actually calls for.
Will a filter slow down my water pressure?
Not if it is sized correctly. An undersized system on the main line is the usual cause of a pressure complaint after a filter goes in. We size to the service line and fixture count, and we check pressure before and after.
Is a HALO system a water softener?
Not in the traditional sense. It conditions hard water without salt, so there is no brine tank and nothing to refill. If you specifically want ion-exchange softening, tell us and we will talk through the trade-offs.
How often does it need servicing?
Point-of-use cartridges are on a set interval that depends on the filter. Whole-home media runs for years rather than months. We give you the interval in writing for whatever we install.
Can you service a system another company installed?
Usually, yes. If parts are no longer available for it we will tell you that rather than string it along.
