Leak detection and repair

If your water bill jumped and you cannot see water anywhere, you probably have a hidden leak. By the time there is a stain on a ceiling or a warm patch on a floor, it has usually been running for a while.

We find the exact spot first, so we open up as little of your house as possible.

What we handle

  • Slab leaks located and repaired
  • Underground water line leak searches
  • Hidden leaks in walls, ceilings and crawl spaces
  • Water meter testing to confirm whether you have a leak at all
  • Toilet, valve and fixture leaks, with the cheap causes checked first
  • The repair itself, once the leak is found

We check the free things first

A few simple checks account for a good share of unexplained water bills: a toilet flapper passing water, an irrigation valve stuck partway open, a pressure relief valve weeping. Those cost very little to fix and are worth ruling out before anyone searches a slab.

Slab leaks

Homes on slab foundations can develop leaks in the water lines underneath. The usual signs are a warm spot on the floor, running water with everything turned off, or a bill that has climbed for no reason. Once located, there is normally a choice between opening the slab to repair that section or re-routing the line overhead. We explain both and what each involves.

Frequently Asked Questions

How can I tell if I have a hidden leak?

Turn everything off in the house and watch the water meter. If the dial is still moving, water is going somewhere. That is the most useful test you can do yourself.

Do you repair it, or only find it?

Both. Locating the leak is the first half of the job.

Will you have to break the floor?

Not always. Where a slab repair would mean opening a finished floor, re-routing the line overhead is often the better option. We price both.
